MTCW 3 Blog Assignments
MISS TEEN CANADA - WORLD
2010 MTCW Blog Army
Three Blog Challenges,
The assignments are released starting June 12th, 2010, one every ten days, until pageant week.
1. Miss Teen Where?
Write about your city, hometown or region and give lots of good travel information for outsiders, people that have never visited the place before. The post should be witty and full of original pictures that are properly aligned left or right, just like a magazine. Be sure and talk about yourself and show us all your favourite parts of your own abode.
Most important of course are your sponsors – write about them and link to them under their business names.
This is your chance to show off your style as a travel writer; bonus points if you list the popular place names as keywords in the tags section at the bottom of the post (in advanced settings).
And don’t ask me for help cause I wont give it anymore, (unless you are a new participant from Quebec, Nova Scotia or NB)
2. Who’s That Girl?
Imagine if you were the star of your own TV show? What would it be about? This is your chance to show us how creative you can be with your own image, and your own television programming prowess. Would you make a one hour investigative journalism news program? Or would you be better suited to star in a ½ hr comedic TV sitcom? Would you make an MTV music video style clip show? Or a celebrity dirty laundry expose video magazine? The possibilities are endless… so to make the challenge more interesting…
Please include at least two sponsors from the list of 2010 Miss Teen Canada – World sponsors list (visible at the bottom of the MTCW blog template) and copy their logos and business names in your pitch – be sure to give them text links in your post. Why would they fund your TV show?
What’s in it for them? Does your idea speak to their market and brands? Write about it.
MAKE A POSTER - There are points for a good ‘movie poster’ type picture that shows your name in lights, and your smiling face as the star, under the name of the TV series (or above if desire) with the sponsors logos and names below. Everyone likes a good poster.
3. Free The Children - Corporate Social Responsibility and Citizen Journalism
Some people believe the most important thing bloggers can do in this world is write good content that shares good information and affects change. Sometimes bloggers write about things that are too political for news media to properly report – like 911 truth, and the terrible evils of consumerism and globalization etc. But good citizen journalism takes time because it’s hard to write material without doing research.
This last challenge is the hardest. Write about any ONE of over sixty different Free The Children corporate partners, seen listed here http://www.freethechildren.com/aboutus/partners.php,
and write about why they became involved, and what exactly they are contributing to charity. Do your research. The best journalists show their sources (unless they are whistle blowers) and we expect to see links to old press releases, and news media reports that describe relationships between the two organizations. Links and logos are important here. Show how the partnership has benefited both parties.
